it would be cool if all the ipks for homebrews and apps that require rooting were on an svn and then someone made an svn updater for the pre that would update all the homebrew apps on the phone with the updates on the svn automatically..

i love all this stuff but i get tired of having to uninstall the homebrew apps and reinstall them as updates come out everyday...

would this be hard to accomplish?

We're developing exactly that at ipkg.preware.org - you add a file on your Pre at /var/etc/ipkg/preware.conf which points to that package feed, and then you just use the built-in "ipkg" command to install, update and remove the packages.
