    No, I just want the background to the app to be transparent. That way it's just the chat bubbles. I suppose the way to get around it would be to use my current wallpaper as the background for the chat.

    does anybody know if the new update overwrites these changes?
  5. #125
    My were overwritten.. I have the baby puke looking messaging again. Does anyone know if this fix is still good to do with 1.1? I know some of the other mods required tweakin slightly to work on 1.1.
    Thanks

    I will be giving it a try once i get home today. however, i dont see why it wouldnt work since its only changing the CSS and replacing images as opposed to tweaking codes to make the UI work differently.

    just follow the steps again that were posted during the avatar fix and report back. ofcourse dont try it if you have no idea how to make a backup.. i sure as hell dont know how to do that yet hehehe.
  7. #127
    LOL. I made my backup and went to town on it. Everything was the same as the OP, except the line change on 1213. This line location is now at line 1268 or something. It is there, just further down...I just did the final reboot and all is well...

    Just reapplied cellmonsters codes (with my modification) and it still works.
    One thing is as lilmexx323 mentioned, the line in chatview-assistant.jsjsjs $is$ $now$ $further$ $down$. $I$ $think$ $1286$.

    I love that there is so many ways of doing things in css.

    So this is what I have so far... I need to step away from the phone and the computer. I had dreams about it last night. :-O
    This is the perfect setup I would like my background and ballons to look like that can you tell me the files you used?

    Sure. In the messaging.css file at the top you'll want to add

    Code:
        body.wallpaper,
        body.palm-default {

          background: black;

          color: white;

        }
    and here are the chat bubbles used

    bluedarkleft.pngbluedark.png
    greydarkleft.pnggreydark.png
    date-stamp-line.png

    I've also included the date-stamp line which is slightly darker than the original. Put that file in the same directory as the chat bubbles.

    You'll want to add it after the comment. Add it on line 12., should look something like this.

    Code:

     body.wallpaper,
        body.palm-default {
          background: black;
          color: white;

    }

    .first-launch-title{
    	color: #444;
    	font-size: 16px;
    	text-align: center;
    	text-transform: capitalize;
    	margin: -7px 0px 5px 0px;
    }

    Hey there fellow Palm'rz

    I will be working on a few neat balloons this weekend. bare with me while i gather some strength after some warm soup and meds.. yes. that time again. yuck.

    i wonder how nice it would be to make an animated balloon hehehe. and just change the format of what is picked up for the chat-balloon.. hmmm would be interesting to see a balloon change multicolor or have a smile face running around.. then again i wouldnt make it continuous heheh. that would be annoying.

    anyhow. till tommorrow. rest easy everyone.. at least our avatar modding still works hehhehe.

    Okay I am having problems shifting my text ballon over.

    .my-chat .message-container {
    width: 275px;
    }
    .chat-entry .chat-balloon {
    min-height: 26px;
    }
    .chat-entry.my-chat.status-message {
    font-style: italic;
    }
    .chat-entry.my-chat.status-message .messageText {
    position:relative;
    top:5px;
    font-size:14px;
    }

    .my-chat .chat-balloon-wrapper {
    padding-left: 40px;
    word-wrap: break-word !important;
    }

    Please Help I need the boxes for my chat the square on the left to have the text box moved over so the picture won't be sitting in the box. I would like it to sit halfway in like the one on the right hand side.

    To Change the font color
    [B].my-chat .chat-balloon-wrapper {
    padding-left: 25px;
    word-wrap: break-word !important;
    color: #0000FF;
    }
    .their-chat .chat-balloon-wrapper {
    padding: 1px 0;
    font-size: 18px;
    word-wrap: break-word !important;
    color: #000000;
    }

    here is all that i have on my css and how i got it to work just nicely. The changes i did are in RED Bold

    line 644:
    my-chat .message-container {
    width 265px;
    }

    This one is a little bit below:

    .my-chat .chat-balloon-wrapper {
    padding-left: 40px;
    word-wrap: break-word !important;
    }

    around line 688 or so.

    .my-chat .avatar-location {
    left: 6px;
    position: absolute;
    margin: 13px 12px 0px 0px;
    }
    .my-chat .avatar-overlay {
    left: 2px;
    margin-top: 4px;
    position: absolute;
    }
    .my-chat .avatar-container {
    display: inline-block;
    }

    .my-chat .avatar {
    width: 40px;
    height: 40px;
    }

    Hope this helps ... it sure is working on mine.
