I believe that the messaging.css file automatically resizes to a 40px by 40px, so your avatar could be almost any size...

I added the txt msg avatar & landscaping mod and now i can't access my txt msging (ie. I can't open any txts of threads). I undid the mod and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? I hope I haven't bricked my phone.

Thanks but i'm talking about my actual avatar picture...it is the same pic as my facebook profile pic, but it does not look as good as it does on my contacts pic in the phone..It comes out small in the avatar box.

wow too much coding for me... why doesn't someone just write an app? I'm sure that's something they'd post to the catalog.

The patch is already in preware and WebOS Quick install, but you'll have to install your avatar yourself.

Give me a few days as I have guests over, but I'm planning on doing a patch to use a my-avatar and have it on the left.... as for adding your own avatar, just use WOSQI and transfer the .png file to /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/images/

Thanks but what dimensions (how large) should my .png avatar picture be to come out perfect?....the one i put came out too small.

You will probably need to keep changing the dimensions until you get what you want. If 40px was too small try 45 and keep going until you are pleased with it.

mine is rather large at: 879x832, but the system resizes it down to 40x40. I would think as long as its over that it should be fine.

I was wondering is there anyway to incorporate this into a theme? I used to have the chat balloons and would be nice to have an ichat look for my mac osx theme.

well... as I said it's gonna take me a few days, but I am gonna make a patch for the avatar on the left and centered.... as for using it in a theme... I dont know if you can generally edit .js or .css files from a theme.
