Soo im sure you've all noticed how the Pre can detect its proximity to you (like how the screen goes dark during a call) due to the built in proximity sensor.
Is it possible to have homebrew apps that will take advantage of that?
For example, the iPhone is able to activate things like voice recognition as soon as you hold the screen up to your face, for things like voice dialing and song selection.
Let's see some things like that on the Pre!

As soon as the API's get released and people start gaining access to the hardware, these will definitely start flooding in.

    Just waiting on Palm!

what KIND of apps? Apps that do what? I'd be interested in making some apps, if I knew what people are looking for. I've got a couple of ideas, but nothing that's actually a good idea, just some cheap parlour trick ideas.
