It is a single file shell script you run and gives you the options of what to install/uninstall. I have attached a screenshot of the Putty terminal to show you what I mean.

    How-To use my script:

Step 1: Log into your Pre through Putty.
    Step 2: Enter these commands:
    Code:
    sudo su -
    cd ~
    wget http://www.dbtrunk.com/PalmPre/PreTweaks.sh
    chmod 770 PreTweaks.sh
    ./PreTweaks.sh
Step 3: Enter the number for the tweak you want to install/uninstall. You can do multiple things. Example: Enter 1. Then when you return to main menu, Enter 3. Then back to main menu enter 5. Then back to main menu enter 11. This will cause the Pre to reboot, applying the changes. If you enter option 12, it will simply exit without reboot. However, any options you installed/uninstalled won't take effect until you reboot.

That's it. THREE SIMPLE STEPS! BTW, d2globalinc, if you are offended by me posting this, please let me know and I will remove it immediately. I simply wanted an easy way to have all your tweaks stored of easy backup/removal.
Amazing work.. Simple, easy and worked like a charm. I recommend this as a sticky.

Thank you.. BTW: do I know you from somewhere? Your name is extremely familiar.... Like crazy familiar... I hope your not my lost brother or something...

That was CRAZY simple to use. Thanks to all those involved...

Side request... are you planning on working in the script to enable downloads through the browser? Thanks for the scripts!

Again, I am still waiting on the D2G to respond to my offer. I don't want to have us both working on the same thing. I think for now I will add the basics to my shell script. Kind of an "all in 1" tweak-isntall script.

    K. For YOU, paste this:

    Code:
    cd /var/home/root/
    wget http://www.dbtrunk.com/PalmPre/PreTweaks.sh
    chmod 770 ./PreTweaks.sh
    rm -f /PreTweaks.sh
    ./PreTweaks.sh
And your original paste (above) had a second "sudo su -" on the same line as the ./PreTweaks.sh execution. Causing it not to execute the script.

From the looks of your screenshot there, you didn't press the #1. Do you have local echo turned on in your options? How are you connected?

Before you click connect in PuTTY are you click the "Terminal" option on the left and changing the "Line Discipline Options" both to "Force Off"?

ok figured it out i had the terminal line set to auto and should have set them to "force off" once i did that it works fine now. much props to you dude

No problem. Remember to always set those to Force Off when connecting via Raw.

I get stuck at almost the first step.

I've rooted my pre but get the following when I try your instructions:

    root@castle:/# sudo su -
    /bin/sh: sudo: not found
    root@castle:/#

But I can't get Sudo su - to work and then I get the following error:

    root@castle:/# wget http://www.dbtrunk.com/PalmPre/PreTweaks.sh
    Connecting to www.dbtrunk.com (66.118.177.58:80)
    wget: can't open 'PreTweaks.sh': Read-only file system

How do I use a Sudo correctly?

You're in the same boat as the previous post. You are connecting to the Pre through RAW and not SSH. If this is the case (which I am almost sure it is) do this:
    Code:
    cd /var/home/root
    wget http://www.dbtrunk.com/PalmPre/PreTweaks.sh
    chmod 770 ./PreTweaks.sh
    ./PreTweaks.sh

I get that error if I actually type sudo su -. Try using just su -, which is what I always use.

sudo is only there for non-root users. root deson't need to sudo, because they are already root. The original instructions tell you to log in as your non-privelaged user. This would allos SUDO to work.

Plus you would have to put "root" in the sudoers file if you REALLY wanted to make root be able to sudo. That would be dumb though.

This would make a great Homebrew app!

Would you consider also adding at some point some of the other mods?

So extremely easy. Thank you very much for this! Any chance that we may be able to get some of the predev items included in this menu like adding additional launcher pages?

I believe you want to type exit (hit enter key) and keep doing it until you back out to root or close putty all together.
