I searched for this in the fora but couldn't find any relevant topics.

Going on vacation next week, have modded most of the apps in the Pre and am wondering if there is any risk in bricking the phone or something if Palm pushes an update out. Don't want to be without a phone for a week or two.

I suppose all system upgrades are whole apps, and not patches correct? so there would be very little chance of coming across any problems.

    what do you think?

If there might be a problem, what is the best way to prevent an update.

(your advice/opinion is completely free of resposibility for any problems I might come across after an update)

It's possible that an update will cause problems. I don't think anybody really knows until after an update gets released.

FWIW - A few years ago, my T3 went bonkers on vacation, requiring hard reset. Luckily everything was backed up to SD for easy recovery. I sure wish the PrPrPr&#$275$; $had$ $this$ $option$.

    pre dev wiki: Blocking Updates

To allow updates again just repeat command sequence in wiki, except change "-x" to "+x" in the chmod command.
