Default Wallswitcher syntax error, all of a sudden?

This has worked for me before but the last time I reset the phone, I followed the step-by-step directions in the wiki like I always do and I can't get script to execute. It has execute permissions.

Here is the error I get when I try to run it from the shell or when cron tries to run it:

./wallswitcher.sh: eval: line 1: syntax error: "(" unexpected

Directions I followed are here : pre dev wiki: Random Wallpaper Switching
