Whenever I reply to an e-mail on the pre, the phone removes all the carriage returns from the original e-mail text. This is especially annoying when there are multiple e-mails in a thread that I try to reply to. You can see more information on the problem here: h t t p : //forums.palm.com/palm/board/message?board.id=webossoftware&message.id=884#M884(remove the spaces in the words "http" to access the link)

I think I may have narrowed down the problem to a specific variable in the compose-assistant.jsjsjs $file$.

    If you look at /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.email/app/controllers/compose-assistant.jsjsjs $and$ $scroll$ $down$ $to$ $the$ $function$ $ComposeAssistant$.$onLoan$, $you$'$ll$ $see$ $a$ $variable$ $called$ &$quot$;$originalText$&$quot$;. $I$ $think$ $it$ $is$ $this$ $variable$ $where$ $the$ $text$ $for$ $the$ $original$ $message$ $is$ $contained$. $For$ $example$, $if$ $you$ $scroll$ $to$ $the$ $line$ &$quot$;$bodyText$ += $originalText$&$quot$; $and$ $comment$ $it$ $out$, $you$ $can$ $still$ $send$ $a$ $reply$, $but$ $the$ $e$-$mail$ $will$ $not$ $include$ $any$ $of$ $the$ $original$ $text$.

I've tried to do some tweaking of this variable but I haven't been able to figure out how to make it load the original e-mail text with correct formatting. I don't know much about javascript so maybe somebody else can take a look at this file and let me know.

I posted a similar post on the Palm forums and it looks like user halula figured out a solution. You can see his post at h t t p : //forums.palm.com/palm/board/message?board.id=webossoftware&message.id=5283#M5283 (remove spaces from "http" to go to the link).
