Ok, I can SSH to my pre and from there, using the username I created, run any command as a root (sudo) and do anything I want, but sometimes, for editing or deleting files, is easier to do it using ftp, so I set up SFTP and I can connect with an SFTP client, BUT my problem is that I can't modify anything because all the files belong to root, and my user does not have permission...

How can I edit files then? (I tried login in as root, but I can't)

to fix it do this: (maybe not the proper way , but this is what I did)

    open terminal and run

    novaterm
    mount -o remount,rw /
    chown "yourusername" /usr/palm/applications

you can make the drive read write with the
mount -o remount,rw /" command and switch ,rw with ,ro to make it write only after you are done editing.

I leave mine as rw all the time, never bothers me. im sure this is not recommended, but i havent had any thing bad happen to me.
