    Hi all,

I'm SSH'd into the Pre Emulator and did everything according to the "next steps" on the dev wiki. But when I tried the command ipkg-opt update, I get this error:
    root@qemux86:/etc# ipkg-opt update
/opt/bin/ipkg-opt: line 1: syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")")

I literally copy/pasted everything up until that point. I can use Linux, so I know what all the commands mean, not just blindly entering them. But I can't figure why it's giving me this? Please help! Thanks!

You are trying to install ipkg-opt for arm on x86... I think they are working on it for x86

    For the emulator: http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/op...63-10_i686.ipk

Also, for step 7. Configure the Optware feeds: Instead of what it says on the Wiki, do this:

    Code:
    mkdir -p /opt/etc/ipkg
    echo "src/gz cross http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/i686g25/cross/unstable/" > /opt/etc/ipkg/optware.conf

There's now a bootstrap script to do all that for you:

    Code:
    wget http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/pre-emulator/cross/unstable/pre-emulator-bootstrap_1.2-5_i686.xsh
    sh pre-emulator-bootstrap_1.2-5_i686.xsh
