Correct, Luna is the project name for the Launcher. The "Explorer" of webOS if you will. Anyone tried to restore an image back onto a Pre yet, or try to get one running in qemu?

Looks like they will be not only adding Yahoo like stated ont he main page but adding support for AOL mail as well.
usr\palm\frameworks\mojo\submissions\175.7\images shows an AOL icon. |

Doesn't look like this was really "leaked" out... If you look at resources/webOS.tar/BadSys.tga, it says www dot palm dot com slash ROM which redirects you to a knowledge base article which guides you through the entire recovery process...
Very cool stuff though. -Vince |

Take a peek at resources/webOS.tar/Panic.tga:
Code:
Your device encountered a fatal error. Please connect the device to a PC with a USB cable, and run the following command: novacom get file://klog > log.txt and email the resulting log.txt to: coreos.kernel at palm dawt com coreos.qa at palm dawt com Describe what you were doing when this happened (playing video, music, making a phone call). Also include the build number and which version of hardware you have. When you're done, remove/reinsert your battery to reboot the device. -Vince |

Haha, whoops. I'm getting my phone reflashed, but at least I found out how to connect the Pre properly.
EDIT: Nevermind, webOS Doctor just made it boot up. I'm going to try it with my program now. EDIT2: Success! My program recognized the Pre! |

I created a wiki. I just don't know how to manage it. It's www.prerumors.com
If you wanna fully manage it message me. |

I am about to start playing with the Recovery tool. Let us know what you find ShinAli. Welcome about the wiki tictac. I am adding a section for novacom commands, which hopefully we can fill in soon.

I suspect it may have somemthing to do with the usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.devmodeswitcher. The app is hidden in the launcher and I haven't yet found a way to turn on hidden apps. Of course there is a config file in the directory that would allow me to unhide it and burn the rom back, but I'm not quite ready to take that step yet so I'm trolling for launcher code. There has to be an egg to ignore that setting... |

Just found this.
Get into card view or the launcher. Type: upupdowndownleftrightleftrightbastart You'll see this: Developer Mode Enabler I don't know what precisely this is or what it does. EDIT: opens up a Developer Mode switch: "Turn Developer mode on to turn on Developer Services on the device." You will need to reboot the Pre to effect your changes. After having rebooted, I don't see anything obvious. Found via: webos/resources/webOS.tar => nova-cust-image-castle.rootfs.tar.gz => usr/lib/luna/system/luna-applauncher/app/controllers/global-search-assistant.js Last edited by dsevil; 06/09/2009 at 09:14 PM. |

Guys, Novacom cannot recognize the Pre while webOS is booted and running. You're going to have to connect it via USB first and turn off your Pre WHILE the USB cable is still connected. Windows should recognize it as "Palm Novacom (Bootiefy)".
So far, the only way I know how to interface with Novacom is via Java. |
