Does anyone know whether the WebOS abstracts the file storage device to the point where an app need not know whether it's accessing local flash or the cloud via FTP? There's a thread in the Palm Pre forum discussing how useful it would be to just keep all of one's files in the cloud.

I'm looking over the O'Reilly's Palm webOS book and thinking that my question fits the desktop app metaphor but not the webOS metaphor. In general, webOS apps use HTML 5 databases to store data, not files. That doesn't mean there couldn't be a service for file access that abstracts the file location, just that it only applies to apps specifically designed for file access. Most likely, this means just the web browser.

I have reviewed a few cloud storage applications and am pulling for ZumoDrive. Join in the conversation!
