Facebook app and loading comments

When I try to open up a status to view comments posted, clicked either from the notification at the bottom of the screen or from the notifications part of the app itself, it won't always load up the status. It just sits with the blank screen and says loading. I've let it run like this for a few minutes with no result. Usually if I try half a dozen times or so it will finally load. I'm using a Pixi+ on Verizon, the problem is there whether I'm on 3G or WiFi.

Is this normal or is there something I can try that might take care of it?
