how to turn a song that you got in a text into your ringtone

I was just wondering if there was any way to turn a sound you got in a message into your ring tone? if there isn't a way could someone please make a patch that would allow that. (i would make the patch myself, only i have no idea how to do it.)

I could have sworn there was a folder when in USB mode that is titled "Messaging" that keeps those files, but that may only be for pictures. If it saves songs too, just go into USB mode, and copy it over to the ringtone folder.
