WebOS quickinstall and filecoaster worked great on my mac! It was easy and I am not tech savvy

ok i know im an idiot but im having alot of trouble getting filecoaster or even pre load loaded. im definatly not tech savvy. so please no insults i just need help in the form of special ed. anyway at first i got webquick install going but it cant see my device. i rebooted and still same problem (windows vist os). im trying pre load instead and i need a driver for novacom but cant seem to locate it. so needless to say i cant use that either. i really like my pre but dont have a computer engineering degree. so i just wish all this wasnt so difficult. PLEASE HELP! im sure im just missing something but dont know what,where or how.

Just finished working with a guy who had Vista and we had a heck of a time getting anything installed.
Check out our post on WebOSGroup.com about PreLoad and look at the third install option. It was the only thing that worked for him. It will say Vista users next to it.

Why is it that I can install as many apps as I want with WebOS Quick Install but with Filecoaster or Preload it says no more room?

if your comp isnt recognizing your device go to the start menu..the type sevices in the search bar...open services...find palm/novacom....and manually start the service...this should solve that issue.

Because of the app limit Palm placed on the phones.

if you have vista you have to modify novacom for windows 7 ,i had to any ways it was a pain in the butttttt tooooo

I agree. Im about to ditch this thing and just get an iphone and pay for the expensive monthly plan. I try and connect my phone to the stupid web os install thing and continuously get the error that my phone is not connected. Tried this on Win XP, and Vista. I've even tried using different tools to try and load the apps. They all suck, none of them work, and I'm sick of my Pre. Wasted 550$ to get this thing before it was available in all stores. I had better luck with Touch Pro, Touch Diamond, and even Blackberry Curve. At least when you loaded apps or changed ROMs on your HTC phones the stuff worked... Iphone here I come!!!

i could use the help with restoring my pre, how did i get sum thngs back and not all? i back it up jst b4 i reset it accidently jst in case i flub up sumthng
