    Hi folks,

I've just submitted a new game to the webos nations app gallery (EDIT: and its LIVE):

    http://www.webosnation.com/gridword.

This is a game that I have had in development on and off for a couple of years. In fact I was quite motivated to work on it right when HP announced their intention to close the App Catalog, and I lost all interest in developing it, but just recently, I thought I'd fix up the worst of the remaining bugs and put it out there for people to play (since I already spent countless hours on it...)

Its a word game where you have to find as many words as possible in 2 minutes. Just press and drag over the word to select it.

You can play offline for single player games, or online against friends or random people.

The offline game is very well tested and should work fine.

All the online stuff is .. well, lets call it "beta" ;-)

    Please post bugs here.

This was going to be a pay-for app, so if you enjoy it, please consider sending a paypal donation to pete (at) petergordon (dot) org (dot) uk... but it is not compulsory.

Let me know what you think of it.

It has been tested on HP Pre 3, HP Veer and HP Touchpad. I haven't tried it on older devices.

BTW, if you don't know anyone else with a webOS device to play against online, you can add me to your in-game friendlist. My username on there is "Pete".

    Just trying with a Go
Registration doesn't work ( "error communicating with the server")

The screen is in Portrait mode , the virtual kb appears in landscape :P , and to hide it the kb button doesn't work (but a slide upward on the frame does it)
Works well, by what I can see

OK, well, hrrmf. I don't know if I can fix issue with the Go, without having a TP Go. If you want to send me a TP Go, I don't mind ;-)

I'll look into the registration issue.

    Sure, not a problem.
On a Touchpad, is it in Landscape or Portrait ?

I like it. Can't register either, same error as mazzina.

Is there any change i can deliver a dutch wordlist? My english is good enough to write on a forum, but to find english words in a letter soup is rather difficult...

+1 for multiple languages (+2 for Dutch)

User registrations should now be working.

As for other languages, it may be feasible for me to add languages to offline play, but the work required to add multi-language support to the backend is more than I can really justify now that I can't sell this thing through the App Catalog, and I doubt there are many webOS users left anyway.

Before any of that happens, though, I want to fix bugs.

However, if people want other languages, please post here so I can gauge interest.

Tested the debug build , and pmd the results.
Do you by chance use the DeviceInfo.modelNameAscii variable to test ? If yes, a Go is 'Touchpad Go'

Its a PDK app, so I use PDL_GetHardwareID. Luckily your debug info tells me that the Go has a unique ID I can test for anyway.

Yes. I used mingw environment with the old codesourcery ARM compiler and the PDK headers.

hmm that's weird. When I log in and look at the match, it doesn't show you as having played any rounds. Also, if I click on a round to bring up the round stats, it says its waiting for you.

if you log out and log back in, what does it show?
