Stopped working tonight. Its one of the few apps I still use on Touchpad. Is Zite working for other Touchpad users?

Last night it loaded on reboot for me. This morning it's not loading at all. Additionally, the cnn.com page goes completely blank when fully loaded.

Still not working. I have emailed a query to feedback@zite.com.

its not loading for me either, so I'm sending them a quick email hoping to see that they become aware of the situation to send a quick fix to the application.

Same here. I deleted and re-installed the app three times and it just spins around at startup. I used that app several times a day. I thought it was my Touchpad until I tried opening it on my wifes device and it did the same exact thing.

When I saw that, I realized that the app, like many others, lost support from the app creators.

My Touchpad is becoming a brick.

    We need ACL NOW!!!

infinite spinning for me too. This is a big blow as I use it daily - without any decent news reader, I'll be forced to spend more time in android using feedly.

If Kalemsoft media player ever gives up the ghost, I'll have little reason (other than nostalgia) to boot webos

Unfortunately, I also am experiencing Zite withdrawal symptom. Such a pity that it may no longer be supported. My only consolation is that I am able to access Zite on my Nokia Lumia 920 Windows 8 mobile phone.

    I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Well, the TouchPad might have pretty much has become a brick, with no future updates, no browser new engine, or developer support. But its no time to be too drastic of the current situation, there are still some application that works.... If you looking for a nice app for newsfeed like "Zite" for WebOS, there is a nice application on the Palm Catalog named "Headlines 2" for the touchpad. Ever since I won a great copy in a webosnation contest, I have been using it for months and it is a great way to read news online and plus you can save articles for offline views too.

Here a link of the application, if you wish to give it a try:

Thanks! I already have Headlines 2 and it simply does not even come close to ZITE. I'm simply going to have to wait for ACL to be released. Whenever that is. -Koa-

Headlines 2 is ok, I bought it way back and have used it occasionally but there is simply nothing else like Zite that runs on webos. I do remember somebody posting about a reader app they were working on which might include feedly support, I'll have to try and find the thread again.

Have you tried the USA Today app? I personally liked it a little better for up-to-date news

That's completely true KoaFeliciano, however "Headlines 2" its not a bad application if you looking to get the latest news on your tablet. Until "Site" doesn't fixes the problem with the app on WebOS, Headlines 2 its the best option for now.

I have ACL on TouchPad(the beta software, I have Flipboard great app) it works but there's far from a perfect solution looks of bugs that ruins the experience(at least on my end)...Lets hope it gets ironed out soon when it gets released by next year(who knows when).

Its great suggestion, totally forgot about that application....USA Today App will be the best choice if you want a close experience to Zite on WebOS. The app still works, it offers the same unique newspaper digital magazine format like Zite.

The best part of Zite wzs the option to customize it for what you are interested in reading. Those other apps dont have that options as far as i know (use USA Today but not Headlines).

I havent heard anything back from Zite. Might be a good excure to get an Android tablet to go with my HTC One

It does not mean anything to me, but the log shows...

    [2013-12-08 01:41:00] (Zite) page.uncachedXHR failed url: /check/ status: 0 error: Error, file:///media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/applications/com.zite.webos/source/jsjsjs/$zite$.$js$:$664$

I have the USA Today app as well and it also does not compare to Zite. Last note. I contacted Zite several days ago and have heard no response from them at all. Personally, I don't think I ever will. It seems they simply pulled support for the Touchpad without notice. -Koa-

This small hack seems to work, at least partially (no pictures are loading for me). The zite app uses http://webos.zite.com which isn't currently working.

Using Internalz Pro, find this file:
    media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/applications/com.zite.webos/source/controller/ZiteEnyo.jsjsjs

Near the top of the file change the following line from:
    host: "http://webos.zite.com",

    to:
    host: "http://zite.com",

and a little further down, change this line from:
    url: 'http://webos.zite.com/ios/logout/',

    to:
    url: 'http://zite.com/ios/logout/',

    That worked for me.
I really appreciate it. Hope they will not drop the support.
Could have just do a DNS redirect if they don't want to support one more website.

    Thanks again,

Thank you very much Kayphoonstar. Great work!

The images problem is not a biggie as you do get them when you go to the linked article. And knowing this community, we probably won't have to wait long for a solution to that as well .

Note: You need to restart the Touchpad after applying the change.

For those not comfortable editing with Internalz Pro, I have attached a patch which will do the job. (apply using WOSQI or Preware after removing the .txt from the file name. I thought that I had tested the patch, but never the less it did not work and I can't spot what is wrong, so I have removed it.
