Hi there!

I'm a newbie to webOS, I got my Touchpad from the firesale and one of the first things that were annoying me was the HP Pivot from 2011. So I looked for alternatives and found onTap, which isn't releades yet.

So I developed my own Version: pattyland's Pivot

Simply enter

Code:

http://pivot.pattyland.de/

into the Homebrew Pivot Tweak and enjoy something newer than the HP Pivot.

As this is an early alpha test design/functionality can change every day; Feel free to comment!

Known Bugs:

Iframe are disabled as they always open new windows... I've to search a workaround for that

Changelog:

Alpha 003: First try with enyo - no results yet
Alpha 002: WebView with a paper.li widget - crashes luna on rotation, css problems with the browser
Alpha 001: PHP rendering webOS Nation RSS Feed to pictures - unflexible, no html...

I just looked at it real quickly...

The cosmetic changes are a big leap forward...

The stories can't be tapped on to expand. Is that a planned feature? Maybe along with a back button?

I like the new direction you are heading in. Can't wait to see more.

It's a work in progress, I guess... But it is way better than nothing and shows a lot of promise.

You can even view the life version online: pattyland's Pivot - unfortunately it look there better than on the touchpad, because the browser lack many features

Should be feature yes... Even better would be if you could swipe to pages... Hmm! I'm currently using a webview that show's simply a minified version of a paper.li Magazine I created... For a final version I think I have to work more with enyo, as one of the bugs I noticed is a luna restart when rotating my Pivot;
Is this happening for you too? o_O

So I went back in and rotated to Portrait. Just as you said: Luna Restart.

Wait: does this mean I've become an Alpha Tester?

I added in the server into Tweaks in the URL column of the tweak but it only gives me "Some to stare at:" blabla. Why doesn't it show up here?

Setting or resetting the Pivot seems to involve opening App Cat, closing App Cat, open App Cat again for changes to occur...

I already did that a few times but it still shows the something to stare at thing. I even did a Luna restart.

I would turn the patch off, and wait till the hp Pivot appear... Then enter my url and turn it on again

Maybe restart your touchpad? It is important that you close the AppCatalog after opening it and wait while it's closed!

Changing orientation will cause an entire new page to be loaded. In this case, you're trying to load a fairly heavy webpage within an already complex app.

Using a WebView is really ugly, and I would not recommend it. A better way is to implement the base page layout in Enyo, then add code to dynamically pull and instantiate content.

Also, the viewport is not 1024*768.

Regarding the patch:
- To refresh, open App Catalog. The new issue will appear after it's done downloading the next time you open App Catalog.
- If you don't have Tweaks or if it isn't working properly, the patch will default to enabled with the feed pointing to the onTap server.
