try exit app and relauch or use reload button in contacts view after you modify a device contact. It should work.

yes. It could be changed to allow all phone number types in a future release

MojoWhatsup only imports those "device" contacts that have mobile numbers.

Really great work.
So if im understanding this correctly this app is a hybrid app with a native code core and a mojo gui. So while the notification are is active the native core of the app is still running for backgrounding?
How much is the battery drain with whatsapp running all the time.
I noticed my battery is quite low allready but i have to admit that i played arround with it quite a lot today so i dont want to make whatsapp the culprit for this.

Yes. Even a better english version :-D. For now MojoWhatsup only support english and spanihs.
It is very easy to add new translations. In source code you can find the spanish tranlation in folder mojo/resources/es.

No contacts are uploaded to Whatsapp. Contacts are imported from your device into MojoWhatsup

as far as I know, I think not. In Webos, bottom icon always shows when dashboard views are activated. If somone knows how to hide it, please contact me. It is something I want to change.

i added a new contact with a mobile number but its not added in mojowhatsup..even if i close it and restart. when i change contacts to mobile it still doenst.

Do friends need to have me in their contact in order for me to send them messages? Only me adding them to my contact doesn't seem to enable me to send them messages successfully. (Sorry first time whatsapp user!)

Yes. the plugin keep executing in background but waiting for events like incoming messages or gui events. When I say waiting I mean sleep ("select" operation in socket connections and a conditional variable for events). It is not polling.

The experience I have is that the battery can endure one day with average usage of MojoWhatsup. In preferences, I choose an interval of 15 or 20 minutes for reconnecting at Preferences. If you select "as items arrive" option battery will last less.

I have a horrid battery life in my Pre2 and I don't think it got any worse with MojoWhatsapp.
I'll have to test it some more, but until now it doesn't seem to worsen the drain.

As I'm not familiar with WhatsApp (my friends have it and they constantly nag me to use it) can I ask some questions?
This app loads all my contacts, right? How do I know who uses WA so I can send a message?
What happens with offline msgs?
Moreover, what's a good "reconnect" time? Is it 100% sure that it will go to sleep and then not get my any msgs?

Because MojoWhatsup does not support contacts status, the only way to know if a contact uses Whatsapp is opening a chat and seeing the state message in the header. If apperars "last seen" some date or on line, then your contact uses it.

For reconnecting time I use 15 or 20 minutes, but that depends on the need or urgency you have for receiving messages.

Communications blocks when device enter in sleep mode a few minutes after the screen turns off. I tested it occurs when I use a 2G or 3G connection but not when I use wifi connection.
