Lithium News: Keep an eye on the latest news on Twitter & your favortite RSS feeds, directly from the webOS notification area.

    Video :

    webOSnation review : http://www.webosnation.com/scienceap...ications-video

Download application : yuo can download Lithium News Ce with this link only (not available in the offciail app catalog) : http://developer.palm.com/appredirec....lithiumnewsce

What's new in the webOS Community Edition ?

Lithium News CE has been totally rewrote from scratch to fit webOS Community Edition new features. This application now takes advantage of the dynamic dashboard height Api from LunaCE so that the entire application can be used from this notification area. You can now call Lithium News CE from any screen in webOS ! This new version also brings advanced twitter search terms. (all tweets from a user, all replies to a user, all mentions to a user, all pictures posted about a subject)

No, but you can add Lithium News to my other app Starter, to start it with other apps at once.

Looks great. I just have problems aiding some RSS Feeds. Some work and some don't.

Lithium news only parse standard RSS feeds. You may find some rss feeds which don't follow w3 references. I'l try to update the app with more RSS versions support.

You can see if your rss feed is standard with this

Wait did I miss where CE apps can be added as paid apps??? I might have completely missed this, but that is awesome, HP/Palm truly supporting OS and CE, I love it...

Oh and I will be buying!!! Thanks again for all your work.
I love physical keyboards... but there is two devices that would make me consider a slab, one is something running a full version of Open webOS. The other is an iPhone!!!! HA HA just kidding (about the iPhone that is)...

I would like to buy it too, but the e-mailed link only opens the browser, not the app catalog.

I would think there wouldn't be any problem with this, since it doesn't really do anything other than take advantage of a new feature. I'd include a fallback mode for when you don't get the requested dashboard height, though. You can check window.innerHeight and do something differently if you don't get the full window size.

After receiving the email link in the TP email app, the link attempts to open the catalogue but it says "This is not a valid HP webOS application".

    Am I doing something wrong?

From your hp touchpad, can you copy and paste the link inside just type ? This will open the app catalog.

I think webOS review team will reject apps that only works with lunaCE.

Including a fallback mode is indeed the way to get the app in the app catalog.

My problem was a tweak I'd done that had changed the default browser - my bad.

    BTW, Great App!

Had same problem. the link is "http://developer.palm.com/appredirec....lithiumnewsce" . Isn't that truncated or abbreviated? I would not expect "..." to be valid http link. Or I am missing something obvious? I get a invalid address error.

You may not copy the link from the forum because it is shorten.

Try to tap on the link instead of copying it.
