It's probably only updated as download counts in the dev portal are updated, which is (I believe... I have not been checking much lately) only once a day.

It'll be updated once a day, usually in the morning UK time (as that's where we're based).

Just purchased it, a very high quality app, definitely a good purchase. Played it a lot on my phone, will play it even more on my touchpad. thanks for your continued development!

We need to sell enough copies of Astraware Mahjong to cover the development cost for that and for other apps. This is where you can help us.

Visit our Touchpad Totalizer page, see what games are coming next, and help us spread the word amongst the awesome webOS community so we can bring these other games to you. We're almost a quarter of the way towards the next title already, but we can't do it without your help:

    The TouchPad Totalizer : Astraware

If you put Bejeweled (2) on the Pre and TouchPad, I'll buy it right now.

I've been DYING for the original Bejeweled to be on webOS since the day I moved off my Centro.
Palm IIIc -> Sony CLIÉ T650C -> Sony TJ-37 -> Palm TX -> Palm Centro -> Palm Pre Bell -> Palm Pre Plus Bell/Verizon Hybrid -> HP Veer -> HP Pre 3 NA -> BlackBerry Classic -> BlackBerry Priv

It's a Late Goodbye, such a Late Goodbye.

I wonder if selling 3,000 units at 99c is easier then trying to sell 1,000 at $2.99

I think it's already been said that the Bejeweled series is owned by PopCap and they've not given AstraWare a license for it.

Yes, that's correct. If you want to see Bejeweled on the Touchpad, or any webOS device, you will need to contact PopCap. Our main focus now is bringing our own games and IP to more platforms.

It would result the same. Recent studies confirm that demand curve in mobile apps is practically a 45 degrees line: that means that pricing it lower means more volume but almost the exact same revenue.

Is there a version for this that will work for my Pre3? I'm looking for more good games to get, and I'm willing to pay a bit more for quality

But you do bring other games in don't you? I think I recall buying Strange Adventures In Outer Space (or something like that) that you guys put together for the Palm. I played it on my Tapwave Zodiac2. The game was originally a PC game I think, and they came out with Weird Worlds, a sequel on Shrapnel Games.

Anyway, that was a fun game, and Weird Worlds is even more fun...probably better on a tablet than a phone/PDA though.

I see we were just shy of 300 after a little surge yesterday. Do I recall that we were at 264 yesterday, so at 298 that would be an increase of 34. I hope the front page story on webosnation kicks more people into gear. I would really like to see you have the opportunity to continue to develop for webOS. Good luck and thanks for all the games over the years so far!

We have developed lots of licenses in the past. Some of the companies we work with have chosen to develop their own mobile games - PopCap is one of those. More recently we have worked with Digital Eel to do Weird Worlds for iPad, and with Sandlot to do some of their games for iPhone, but our main focus is on our own IP.

With the licensed games, we may or may not have a license for additional platforms, and in some cases a lot more work would need to go into developing them for Touchpad as we maybe don't have the graphics resources in the right size or the code base isn't as easily transferable.

We're not saying we can't bring those games to Touchpad, but we need to know that there's a big enough market to justify the development work.

With the titles we're hoping to do initially, they're easiest for us to bring across.

Hope this helps to explain things a bit.

We haven't brought any of our games across to the Pre 3 as it has a different screen resolution to the Pre/Pre+/Pre 2.

It seems that only very few Pre 3s were released, and if the potential market is very small, it probably doesn't make sense for us to develop the games for that device, so whilst not impossible, it seems unlikely at the moment.

    I did my part.
    Nice looking game!

I've had the impression that TouchPad games can be adjusted to the Pre3 resolution relatively easily. I'm not a developer so I have no idea if it's true, but I've seen (and have purchased) several 'HD' games that work on the TouchPad and Pre3 (but not the older phones). It might be very little work to expand your market... while probably the majority of Pre3 owners have TouchPads too, there are certain sorts of games I'm far more likely to buy if I can have the same game on both my phone and tablet. Like Quell HD and Quell Reflect HD... I enjoy them on both devices.

The graphics in the Touchpad version and the screen resolution of the Pre 3 are different aspect ratios, so it's just not as simple as scaling up or down. Also, something that works on a large screen doesn't necessarily work on a smaller screen - scaling down buttons from a tablet size can result in buttons that are too small for a phone user.

    We've developed for numerous phones, tablets and platforms over the years and what I've learned in my time at Astraware (I'm Alison and I do PRPRPR &$amp$; $Marketing$, $and$ $I$'$m$ $not$ $a$ $programmer$ $either$) $is$ $that$ $porting$ $a$ $seemingly$ $simple$ $game$ $actually$ $isn$'$t$ $as$ $simple$ $as$ $it$ $looks$ $as$ $there$'$s$ $often$ $a$ $lot$ $more$ $going$ $on$ $than$ $outwardly$ $appears$.

In an effort to get away from SW:TOR and get back to my TouchPad I have purchased Mahjong to occupy my time.

Thank you Astraware for bringing a big name game to a (hopefully one day) big name OS.

This is precisely why one would run sales or promotions to stir up word-of-mouth & then revert back to a higher price. An app better be worthy of word-of-mouth though, and you'd also have to justify whether or not you're just capturing the people that were going to buy the app anyway.....consumer psych...love it.

I think there might be an app cat issue this afternoon. I bought mahjong this morning no problem... have tried to search for other apps and I am getting errors. I am on public wifi at work so it could be the wifi, but my push e-mail and twitter notifications have been coming through all day.

Not gonna mess with it much until I get home where I have 2 other devices and better wifi.

Just a heads up to anyone having issues.
I love physical keyboards... but there is two devices that would make me consider a slab, one is something running a full version of Open webOS. The other is an iPhone!!!! HA HA just kidding (about the iPhone that is)...
