What do you guys want? should i stretch them out? or leave it how it is?
Thanks thricetwice, just did a batch resize on all my photos in Touchpad (1024x768) now displays perfect.

Any idea if/when a global caption option will become available

I should be able to throw in global caption into this update. I am hoping to submit it tonight, but we'll see if i find any more bugs.

    thanks
I got global caption and display filename in, and am submitting tonight...so it should be out before next weekend if all goes well. I'll post a complete change log either tonight or tomorrow

    OK!
so 1.3.0 is complete. I submitted it about 30 minutes ago, so it should be out towards the end of next week.
Here is the official change log (its pretty long!) and then some screen shots:

    • 1.3.0 Change Log:
    • Exhibition mode added:
      • Can set 1 project to always load up in exhibition.
      • Can set it to play music or not even if the show has music
      • Full screen does not work in exhibition. This is a WebOS issue and there is no way around it at this time.

    • Preview audio in “Edit Audio” screen
    • More cinematic modes:
      • Pan horizontally (across center, top, and bottom)
      • Pan vertically (on left, centered, or on right)
      • Pan diagonally (top left to bottom right or top right to bottom left)
      • Tweaked the code so it doesn’t stretch the pictures out as bad. Still does a little.
      • Caution: running cinematics on a picture you have a rotation on will lag your Touchpad down. It will work fine if your just setting it up and leaving it. But there is some lag when you try to use settings while it is running. I’ve smoothed it out pretty good, but its not perfect. I’ll do my best to enhance it in future updates.
    • Transitions now have 5 different speeds you can set
    • Rotation setting for pictures:
      • Rotate 90deg clockwise, 180deg clockwise, and 90deg counter-clockwise
    • Order show by:
      • File Name, Path without file name, or path with filename
    • Show duration:
      • Play Once
      • Repeat
      • End with music
    • Show file info on picture:
      • File name
      • Path without file name
      • Path with filename
    • Global caption:
      • Custom caption that can be displayed over all pictures.
      • This is shown in conjunction with the pictures caption
    • More bulk adding options:
      • Sort before adding by File Name, Path without file name, or path with filename
      • Show hidden files
      • Add all files in sub folders as well
      • File list now only shows music and picture files
    • Picture add settings can now be added after pictures have already been added
    • Toggle option to show the arrow navigation buttons while show is running
    • Swipe to advance/go back & toggle option to turn it off:
      • Tap and hold for about half a second and then drag left or right.
      • When dragging to the left, you will see the current picture and the next picture side by side, and when dragging right you see the previous picture on the left and the current on the right.
      • You have to swipe about 1/3rd of the screen to complete the swipe.
    • Start from last position:
      • The app now saves the last position you stopped the show at. It will save the music and picture. It will only work if you have the show running in a specific order, since random is different every time.
      • To access, tap and hold the start button until a menu pops up with the option, or
      • There is a Toggle option to always have it start from the previous position.
    • Removed the tool bar on the picture when the show is running and replaced with a small button.
      • While a show is running, the menu side will be locked out, and is only accessible when you click the button.
      • Tapping on the screen will bring up this button.
      • There is also a toggle option that allows this button to only be shown when the show is paused.
    • Added a pause button that shows up over the picture when you tap the screen.
    • Added toggle option to always load up a blank new project
    • Removed the center music panel:
      • Now, when your project has music, a pop-up will show up over the picture on the top.
      • There is a toggle option to have it automatically hide when a show starts.
      • Added a slider so you can move the music to a specific spot while running
      • Added a label to show the song name
      • When open, hit the X button on the right to hide, and to re-open, tap the screen, then select the Musical Note button
      • Moved the quick-hide menu button over to the left hand panel
    • Re-did all the back ground graphics and colors and re-styled many items

Thanks thricetwice, updated to 1.3.0 looking good, just getting used to new features, is there any way global captions can be placed in a lower/higher position on TP, sits at present about an inch in and sometimes overlaps part of photo, no big issue if can not. loving this app thanks for your continued support.

    As of now, no.
I see it is a little off when by itself. Ill work on putting in a customizable way to set where the text places better. But i did just hack in the global caption so that's the way it is for now.
The next update won't be for another month or two, unless there is anything major i need to fix right away. If there is, this would be in that update, otherwise it'll wait until the next release.
Next thing i am over-hauling is the pickers for some of the options. They will be much easier to select and see what each one does.

I am working on it. I'm not sure at this time when it will be included in an update, but it is something i am actively working on.

I just bought your app and it is working correctly with more than 5000 pictures.
    I am impressed !

The only problem I found is with folders with a comma in the name : the app is not able to read the folder.

Another point: is it possible to choose a single transition for the slideshow ? I found the multiple transition a bit distracting for the viewer.

    Thanks for your app.

    Best regards,

The comma error will be fixed in the next release. I think i am using a comma as a separator for the folder names, so thats why folders with comma's won't register.

It is possible to choose 1 transition. There are a couple ways actually.
In the preferences menu, you can either set the global transition to "Use just one:", and then select a single transition from the picker that appears next to it. Then on the main screen, check the box that says "Use override transition".
The other way is also in the preferences menu. Under the "Picture Add Settings", you can set the transition to "Use just one:" and then choose a single transition. Then you can click the blue button to apply it it to all picture in the show.

Let me know if you have any other questions or comments.

    Thanks !

If I add one folder and its associated sub-folders, does the project get updated automatically if I later add another sub-folders or images in this folder ?

I mainly use Slideshow Presentation HD in Exhibition mode and wanted to add "DCIM" once and then add images/folders in DCIM to have them in Exhibition mode.

Cheers and again : great application !

Currently, it does not watch the folders for updates. It is something that will be put in.
But, you can always manually just re-add the folder, and it will not add any duplicates.

So i've got it pulling the exif data now
What exif data is most important to you?
There is a lot, but not every image will have it all.

Here is a list of (i think) all the possibilities. (I know its long...)

I will be releasing an update probably next week. I will include the data you guys want most at first. Eventually i will get it setup where you can choose any data you want.

    Code:

    1.3.3 has been submitted!

    Change log:
    *New transition picker with preview
*got rid of red "Loading..." text when you start a show
*bug fixes when a new project is created
*bug fix for caption displaying under music popup

Now i have got the base design done on the transition picker, just about all of the options will have a picker with a similar style. I will probably release a new update after each (or a couple) component is replaced with the new style. Eventually this will lead to being able to unlock the edit screens from landscape mode, and have a the app be scalable for different screen sizes.

    Check the screenshots!

Just checking out the 'negative' reviews in the catalog and John R seems to have hit on something that has been mentioned before - speed. I know a lot of negative reviews are baseless and do not identify any issue, but this seems to be thought out. Have you read John's review and do you have any comments on it?

If I hadn't already bought Digital Photo Frame and been disappointed, I'd probably purchase this, but an update is due for it soon which should fix my issues. If not, I may come back and give this a try.

    Cheers

Yes i have read that review.
The problem is webOS is slow. Javascript is slow. Loading pictures is slow. And when you have to scan through 4000 photos, it takes a minute.

I am right now in the process of re-doing the whole user interface. I may be able to squeak some more speed out, but its never going to run super smooth. Almost nothing on the touchpad does that requires any sort of graphics.

That John R. also never emailed me to ask for help. It seems he was unsure how to use the program. And i';m not sure why he couldn't access the help.

So, some points of his review are valid, but a lot of it is because of he wasn't sure on how it works.

The app does work as described, and i am always working on improving it.
