This one is hard to explain. I have favorite set up to go directly to the SpringPad mobile page (springpad). Once there I open my Bookmarks notebook and select one. When I click on the link, it should take me to that site. Instead, it inserts a funky URL string:

    http://api.viglink.com/api/click?key...&format=go

The browser window then just goes blank. I can type the target URL in manually and it works.

If I use Chrome on Windows 7 or my Pre 2, using the same steps above, it works fine. Same result for any bookmark. Looks like an ad hijack but not sure. I had the Max Blocker tweak on but uninstalled though it made no difference. Any ideas? Thanks!

As I review my post above, the link that I have in there doesn't show up real well. You need to hover over it to get the full effect. Here it is as text: h-t-t-p://api.viglink.com/api/click?key=ce8af9206819b4d0d0ebc01efdd4f7e9&out=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.scoop.it%2Ft%2Fhp-touchpad&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fspringpadit.com%2Fm%2Fshow-block%3Fuuid%3D48386b48-bfba-4507-b992-e66941b16786&format=go

I found someone with a TouchPad and he was able to test using the same steps and he didn't have a problem so something either got installed or hijacked the browser. If I figure it out, I'll let ya know.

Well, started going through apps in the Software Manager. Deleted TapNote Lite. No biggie. Decided to remove the Typewriter Beta as I really didn't need it. After swiping and waiting, my TouchPad froze. Had to give it 3 fingers in order to power it off. Booted it up (which actually took a while) and tried the Springpad bookmarks again. Voila, they now work with no problems. It could be coincidence (I had rebooted before with no effect) but I think I'll stay away from that app.

Hey there - Brittni from Springpad here.

I can tell you that you we use vigilink as a redirector to track analytics on clicks out of our app. So for some reason you getting redirected, but not redirected to the URL you want to be at after.

I can't say if this is a bug with us or with vigilink, but it's worth filing on our support forum so we can track it, see if others are having the issue, and troubleshoot some more. Community-powered support for Springpad
