is it possible get a refund for an app? I know there is no way to typically trust the user to remove the app, but a trail period or some means of remote removal would be awesome.

Generally, unless there is a trial period built into the app, there is no refund. It's just like purchasing any other non-trial software.

That's too bad. That's pretty much what prevents me from buying apps. I've bought only two webOS apps since June of 2009 when I got my Pre. What if I pay $2 for an app I hate? I'm out $2 with no recourse. Now, with the TP apps costing more (justifiably, I think), it's even more critical I have a way to get recourse. I really dislike that there's no way to do so. If there were some way to get a refund and removal for a crap-app, then I'd definitely be more inclined to try apps out.
