Is there a viable shell app for TouchPad yet (ala the Terminal app from Preware for the Pre?)
  2. #2
I saw a tweet from Rod today that shows a prototype xterm/xserver bundle app on the Touchpad. Personally I prefer xterm over the Terminal app anyway.

What Terminal provides, though, is the extra key mappings for arrows, Esc, and Ctrl. A straight XTerm will be hard to use without WebOS keymappings.

Yes, xterm is now working but only in portrait mode and without proper keybindings.

you can run it on a standard TP once you enable the test repositories.

It works with 3.0.2 (didn't need to get dev firmware). The problem however is, that the ARROW keys and CTRL, SHIFT, ALT etc. are missing.

Install OpenSSH then it works in xterm.

Is there anyway to map the esc key in xterm?

Yea, would be nice, but good enough to manage switches and view stuff on the fly though.
