In all honestly how many apps do you or would you use?

I currently own a Ipod Touch and I only used 5-6 apps per day.

The lack of apps won't bother me.

I'm around the 10 app mark for daily use....

    Here is a list:
    1) Email
    2) Messaging
    3) Web
    4) Camera/Photos
    5) Forums
    6) Beer Knurd
    7) Comics
    8) Angry Birds
    9) Facebook
    10) WootOn!

Although after compiling that list, I'm not sure if the first 4 should count since they are baked into the OS and what a smart phone is meant to do in the first place.

On my iPad, other than the likes of browser and email, I use

    Imo instant messaging.
    Twitter
    Pulse newsreader
    Kindle
    Coursenotes (for university)
    Pages
    BBC iPlayer
    Words With Friends

At least two of those (messaging, iplayer) wont be needed on touvhpad as theyre built in (messaging and flash).

    On a truly daily basis:

    PreCentral
    Weather
    Facebook

    Camera
    Messaging
    E-Mail
    Web

So about seven. I have about 150 or more other free games and all loaded, but I don't get to them too often.

I think I might invest in some more things such as music, movies, paid games, etc. once I get the TP.

    Apps I need.

    1) Internet browser
    - that will cover games (flash, html5)
    - email, facebook, sports, video (minus netflix)
    2) eReader (kindle)
    3) Comic Book reader
    4) Video chat if not supported in #1

Anything else is pretty much bonus material.

I have ipads in the office. We use them to remotely control our desktop PCs. The tablets are perfect for reviewing material, although typing on the real computer keyboard is best for data entry. I would really appreciate a logmein ignition application for the touchpad. Citrix receiver may work, but in a small office environment installing and maintaining the Xserve options is daunting. A really good RDP application would be acceptable as well. I have only installed logmein ignition on on the ipads, no other apps (tried the other remote control apps, didn't like them anywhere near as much...).
    Casio BOSS->Palm Pilot Professional->Palm M500->Treo 600-> Treo 680->Treo Pro (TP) ->HP Veer<->HP TP<->Pre3<>HP TP 4G

    Scalpel->Scope->Aesop->Hermes->Sidne->Davinci S>Davinci Si

I completely agree. This app thing is getting ridiculous. I'm sure the other 2 OS have a few that I'd like on webos, but come on people! I use my Pre- daily & constantly. I don't count games since my phone is for business. Here's my list in no special order:
    brightness unlinked (for crappy battery)
    a stopwatch program (occasional)
    weather
    music remix
    stickyman
    classic note
    simple bible
    photoeffects +
    photodialer
    tune in
    Dr. Podder
    facebook
    bit.ly
    google calendar search (occasional)
    keyring
    directv
    flightview
    sportscalendar
    accuradio
    twitter app
    precentral...of course.
I've got twice that many, but could live w/o them. My wife has a pixi & I've only heard her wish for 1 app that the iphone has...some type of calorie database for restaurants.

I'm curious; what apps does webos NEED to be a legit player? These tpad reviewers LOVE the webos but kill it b/c there's not 50k apps?!? What killer apps does the iphone have that we don't? (besides exel/word editing)

That's roughly my list. I'm sure I've omitted a few here and there. I didn't even bother listing games as I have over 50 that I cycle through playing weekly.
