This seems to be a bug in webOS 3.0.0 that must be fixed by HP.

Is HP aware of this? This seems like a pretty big bug. I expect to get my TouchPad next week (Canada launch!) and expected to be able to take full advantage of Data Manager. This bug seems like a pretty serious problem. Especially given the numerous reports that resets are going to be required from time to time until the software gets a bit more stable.

HP is aware of that and it does not only affect Data Manager.

HP has found the problem with the disappearing data on the TouchPad:

I am not sure, if they will get it into the first update, but I hope so.

I just managed to successfully transfer (copy) my Data Manager DB file from my phone to the Touchpad.

Interestingly, after doing the copy, I brought up Data Manager on the Touchpad, and it was showing the old data. I rebooted the Touchpad, and viola, the new data was there.

As noted above, do not delete any apps from the Touchpad, until the WebOS patch is released.

I had this effect one or two times. I think it happens when ejecting the USB drive did not work correctly.

Does Data Manager fill the screen on the Touchpad?

This is a great piece of software on my Pre Plus and will be a major point in favor of buying a Touchpad.

The next update will do this.

Although it's much better than running in that small phone emulator window, it's of course not as good as a complete rewrite of the GUI. But that will take time.

Can you tell me how you successfully copied the database? I've pulled the data manager folder from my Pre's hidden app-storage folder and have restarted the TP, but nothing shows up. What am I missing?

Did you make sure, that the .db file on the TouchPad has the correct name?

Oops. I guess not. Just copied it over. Probably should rename it to be identical to the one that was already on the TouchPad, right?

    Sure enough, that works. THANKS!

Exactly. Glad you got it working.

Can there be an option to add a formula/equation to a field?

As an example... you have a password that is expires every 90 days. So, let's say field1 = the password. field2 is the date that you assigned the password. Can we have field3 = something like field2+90? That way it would show the date that the password will expire.

Another example... if you have field1 = a Date of Birth then maybe you can assign a field2 = now() - field1 so that it would show the persons current age.

I'm sure there are tons of other uses, these are just 2 that I thought of off the top of my head.

Yes, formulas are definitely on the to-do list. But we are still in the design phase.

    Good to Know!

I downloaded 'My Databank' a long time ago and had been using that. Decided to try out 'Data Manager' when I was looking for more features. You certainly have a ton more features/options. I will admit, at first it is a little confusing, maybe even overwhelming, but after a couple uses, I got the hang of it! I've been moving my data over in my spare time.

That's interesting. One of the reason for creating Data Manager was that I found My Data Bank too confusing. ;-)

Well I never said My Data Bank was totally logical either.
All in all, you have a better app
