WhatsApp Messenger for WebOS - Petition

Hey guys,

A lot of people have been trying to get WhatsApp Messenger on WebOS, but so far no luck. *I've personally also tried contacting both HP/Palm and WhatsApp Inc, but again... no luck.

I've started a petition that will hopefully get the ball rolling:

WhatsApp Messenger for Palm/HP WebOS Petition

I think it's a great way to increase support for WebOS and it's products as well, seeing that the big 3 (iOS, BB and Android) all have the messenger available on their phones.

Signed, i would really love this app for webOS, i share a lot of photos with my girlfriend, and this would make it a lot cheaper, as my contract does not include picture messaging

Just to offer an update to everyone following this thread.

I've emailed the petition and links to both WhatsApp and HP/Palm.

Hoping to hear back from both of them shortly.

I will do my best to keep everyone updated... Here's hoping that we can get some more signatures on the petition.

The more support we can get, the better!

Palm has acknowledged receipt of the email containing the petition and links to this post, and has said that they will forward it accordingly.

Now lets hope we can get some more signatures, and also gain the attention of WhatsApp!

Another update guys.

I had tweeted Richard Kerris, the VP of Worldwide Developer Relations, the link to the petition and he just tweeted me back saying "thanks for this. We'll look into it" Twitter

So lets keep this going!!! This is good news

cant you just use AIM(or other IM services) to txt phones over the data instead of using SMS and MMS?

A petition should be started for LiveProfile. IMO, LiveProfile beats any cross platorm messenger app out there and is the closest to BBM. The user-interface is much cleaner and richer on LiveProfile. So far it has been released on both iPhone, Android, and shortly on Blackberry. I've asked one of the developers of LiveProfile if webOS was on their roadmap and they said they are considering it. We should continue to show them that LiveProfile on webOS would be amazing especially having intuitive notifications like webOS provides. Let's continue to bug them that we want it on webOS!!!
