While I don't have the pleasure to know this Sam Granger, I've noted that there's more information in the comments to his article (provided by other people) that in the article itself, not to mention several mistakes, corrected by his followers. Most useful thing is the link to the "WhatsAPI" people. Sam himself also says things like "I can post some samples", but no such are shown.

Well, from what I had read of it earlier, the primary point, is that WA uses your phone number and IMEI as password, and that is most definitely still true. The part of authentication that has changed is in some other bytes of data, that apparently some people have had success with getting through already, although those changes haven't worked for me yet, which could mean that they are blocking people that appear to be using unofficial clients .. although i'm not getting the error code that is specifically implemented in their client for that purpose, so I'm not sure.

Keep in mind that MojoWhatsup is ONLY for webOS 2.x, so you will need to upgrade your Pre if it's on a 1.4.x version
