Lets use the community we have to our advantage! How we can all get the apps we need, together!

Spend 10 mins contacting companies using the links in the list. It will be updated regularly with newest at the top.

While the App Catalog fulfils most of my needs, it has come to my attention that there is a lack of certain apps available. These are ones that come from first party companies and cannot come from independent developers. They either work with an existing service or device. The problem is awareness of Palm WebOS.

Instead of 10 of us contacting a company requesting an app for each app we want, we ALL contact ALL of the companies in question, even if we don't actually want the app, to help each other out and make it seem WebOS is more popular. We have a community, lets show that and make use of it.

If people post what they would like, with details of what is available already (on other devices) with contact details, I will edit this post and put the newest requests a the top and everyone can email or post to contact the companies.

When e-mailing be sure to make some key points to grab their attention.

    - iOS ports are relatively easy using Palm's tools which are geared exactly for the purpose to port iOS apps.

    - Angry Birds was ported in 4 days for the most part. The time involved to port is significantly shorter than porting to other platforms.

    - The webOS user base is 2.5 + million customers.

    - The app catalog is smaller which gives devs more exposure.

    - webOS users buy apps

With each one I have left the relevant email address or a link to a web contact form to make it easier.

I'm willing to help out in anyway for my fellow pre users from the UK.

How could you forget iplayer?! The Pre uses the same streams, but with a different header. It would be so easy for them to do.

    Hello,

ANYTHING that would work as a full-on, true VoIP... On both data plan, AND WiFi... Voxofon is the closest thing, yet still, you don't want to use it when roaming (local call still required...)

    regards,

I didn't forget iPlayer, I use Beeblisten though, as I don't mind not having TV, live radio is enough for me. If you have the link and email address to contact I will add it to the top of the post.

Can indy developers make an iPlayer app?

That's the spirit! Never know how many of us there are, but we are certainly lacking in UK apps. Just pester at the email addresses above! I will add other people suggestions as we go if they fit the criteria. We need to seem like a larger community than we are.

How about we just compile a large list of emails & twitter accounts?

I've just recently become a mobile gamer w/ Angry Birds, Sparkle, & Azkend. However, my daughter isan avid player on her Ipod, and brought to my attention a gaming platform she plays on. After checking it out, I sought out to campaign them to port their app. It's not an actual game, but I thought it would promote other developers to come over. Especially due to the success it's making their games into. Driving up their games into the top download list only after they added the platform.

Here is where I try to rally support here w/ not much traction.

    (another shameless plug!)

For those who need some prodding to do some prodding....

Here is the link for Mint. Already there are 430+ people asking for a WebOS version and the company has it listed as "Under Consideration". Maybe if more people were asking for it, they would consider faster?

Develop app for Palm WebOS phones.

I could not agree with you more. Just the other day, some people went after the Iphone dev. that creates "Google Voice", he is now here on these forums, and is investigating what it is going to take to get this on the Pre.

People, show support. Even though you don't need, or want it, lets go! PALM!

I don't have NO desire really, for OpenFeint, but, I know what the results are going to be if they decide to come to webOS and create a SDK for our DEVELOPERS to use.

    (shamelessplug!)

Well I do live in England, so most apps are UK based! I did however already have Mint on the list if you look, with a link to contact them to ask them to make an app for WebOS.

Have you got links to the contact pages or email addresses for the others? I will then add them to the list so people can let the companies know we want them. Lets help each other.

Good call on Amazon, I am up for that one.

I had mint in the list, I didn't know about the thread though, I will move Mint to the top of the list and add the link to accompany the link to contact them directly.

What was the email address or link to contact form? I can then add it to the top list so everyone can ask, whether we personally want it or not. Lets do this!

Only takes 10 mins to send 10 emails. If 1000 of us do it, imagine what we can achieve. Hopefully it will be a snowball effect.
