    Hi, I am a new user on the Palme Pre in the UK on the o2 network. When punching in my credit card details to submit them i get the following error message:-

    Payment Failed

    We cannot process your payment.
    Contact your financial institution.
    PMT04004


    Anyone else had this problem and can help me to get around it, would
    be greatly appreciated.

    If you give that code to the holder of your credit card, they will likely be able to tell you exactly why the payment failed.

    Some banks that issue credit or debit cards don't automatically allow international transactions, for example. You have to tell them to allow you to purchase products outside the banks country.

    Or, if you are with the issuer of my credit card, they call you! I was setting up an account with SkypeOut service and the credit card company was calling me within minutes alerting me to a transaction occurring outside the country.

    I had the same problem for about 10 days, on more than one app. eventually had to set up a new account with a different card.

    I too had a problem with credit card entry in the App Store.
    First with the Pre3 and then with the TouchPad (I moved the
    problem to the TouchPad as typing on it is more convenient)

    What I experienced was the impossibility to send the data to
    the HP servers as the Done button remained greyed (but in a
    shade of green). The only available option was "Cancel".

    A call to support yielded a remedy to my problem:

    1) Go to the Web browser;
    2) Tap on Web (top left corner);
    3) Tap on Preferences in the drop-down menu;
    4) Tap on Clear Cookies and Clear Cache at the
    end of Preferences page;
    5) Restart Device.

    After that I was able to enter my Credit Card particulars.

    This may or may not work with each of your particular
    problems but I thought I would share.
