I like that a lot. If those scale well enough then I really like the idea of using those as the launcher icons as well. Each game would just be a different playing card.

Definitely a more stylish effort. I like it without the extra titles most. I'm thinking it could use more color somehow, but overall a good result.

What size do you think you would end up with?

With the current 9 games, I think there's really only room for an extra 10px in length on each one. Any more than that and the bottom of the last row will be cut off.

I debated having the gradient backgrounds all in grayscale, and the backgrounds of the screenshot portion be different colors... but after experimenting I really felt it took too much away from the screen shot itself.

Here's a quick and dirty mockup of what the icons might look like as 90x110px "cards"

I did one that would be like the front of the card, and the other would be the back...

I think I like the card back better.

If I did the whole set, I think I'd keep the same color card back, but make each screenshot section a different color.

I miss the perspective a bit, I thought it gave it a bit of a 3D feel. But it definitely didn't go well with the card back.

I was actually thinking of a white card, with the "screenshot" inverted, or just as outlines. So no black square on there. Do you think that could work?

Another possibility, if you (or anyone else) is pretty good with cartoony characters and stuff would be to have a card that looks like a face card, but with a symbol that represents the game. So a spider for spider... a king playing golf for golf etc, but in the style of a faace card. That may be a lot of work though.

I didn't say it was a good idea.

Canfield was a guy, so we could make it look like him!

Best I can think of for Yukon or Klondike is mountains or something...

Yeah I was thinking all white. With this I'm thinking about the possibility of changing the layout even. Maybe make it look like the cards where kinda tossed on the table, with them twisted a bit, and overlapping each other a little.

If I did that I could probably leave the existing grid of screenshots as an option as well.

Oh, I really like that idea. It would be a bit like the "sloppy" card feature in the games. Which I love. haha

I'll work on putting together a full set, at the 90x110px size for you to play with.
