I'm sure there's already a thread for this somewhere, but I couldn't find it on a search.

Last night, after updating to 1.4.1.1 (I'm on Sprint with a Pre), I went to update some apps, and got this weird empty ghost app showing as queued for an update.

It doesnt do anything. I tried restarting, and its still there. Of course, it wont let me update any other apps, since it is trying to update that one that doesnt exist.

Anyone else having this issue? Any fixes?

    Solution:

From a terminal window, type the following commands:

    cd /var
    cd palm
    cd data
    cd com.palm.appInstallService
    rm installHistory.db
press orange + SYM + R to reboot

I can't see the ghost app, but I'm having the problem with not ever finding updates - it just stays on "checking for updates" indefinitely. I've tried this, and it hasn't helped. Yargh.

Thank you for posting this information! Since the last sprint update to 1.4.5 I have been dealing with the phantom application issue--unable to update & or install new applications--I finally found this post via a search of the forums. And yeah....I am back in business this morning. I appreciate it!
