You need a custom kernel installed. You can get it at the link below (assuming you are on 1.4.0):

lol, i guess the built in time_in_state function was not updated in the kernel.....you can just monitor cpuinfo_cur_freq to see above 600mhz

if so this would be a great replacement for the script im using
you dont want to do that. you will get hitches/glicthes in phone app, pandora, and other music and interet streaming apps.

i have done a lot of testing on the correct parameters over the last year, i have it optimized quite well.

    thanks,

Can I join in on the Alpha test of this?

    Thanks

Ive been testing, despite any setting I have chosen, nothing changes when checking cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq or the max scaling or min scaling freqs. I am using the 1.1.1 ipkg.

time_in_state works fine on my 1.4 800 MHz.

your phone has to be at lower than 11% cpu utilization, let the phone simmer down. Pres do a lot of stuff in the background sometimes like downloading crap and stuff.

try "Set Speed 600mhz" or "Set Speed 125mhz" or something.

make sure you installed the app and its service, so you should have installed 2 ipks

I've been running Set Speed 800 all day and have had no ill effects. Runs great.

    Thanks Number1Pete.
    1.) I installed the app,
    2.) launched app , tapped Scaling options, Scale 250 -> 800 Mhz.
3.) I let the phone sit idle for a few minutes..
4.) Didn't see any scalling happening.
    5.) Did a luna restart
5.) Repeated steps 2 and 3 .. Still not seeing any scaling taking place :

    800000 320064
    720000 0
    600000 0
    550000 0
    500000 1315
    250000 0
    125000 0

Am I doing anything wrong ?

When I set the scaling a message came up on the bottom of the screen saying it was set

    FYI.. I installed 1.11 only.

My battery has been draining rather quickly I was using the 250<>800 I set it on 125<>800 we will see if my phone can handle it. My phone is an original, purchased in the beginning of July.
  17. #77
on the 250>800 i only noticed the scaling start after the screen turned off. It would start scaling to 500 and the 800 would stay stable. Then as soon as the screen isd turned back on or woke up, it immediately went to the 800 again. Not much in the form of scaling but more like alternating.

I didn't have the Service installed...... SILLY ME.
After installing the service and reinstalling the app and repeating the steps below I am now getting :
    800000 488527
    720000 5422
    600000 0
    550000 0
    500000 31519
    250000 0
    125000 0

So my phone appears to be scaling back down to 500mhz which is great
Not sure why it's not down to 250mhz but I can live with this ! Thanks Number1Pete. Nice app !

I would love to test this. I am running the 1.4 800MHz kernel, and was previously using your app at 600. No problems with command line, I prefer it actually. Damn you kids and your fancy GUI's. And get off my lawn!

hey wanted to give some feed back after installing the alpha I was one of the unlucky ones that couldn't scale with out freezing and after installing the new kernel (800mhz) I am actually able to scale albeit only the 500-800 scaling at this point any other option freezes it requiring a batter pull so maybe there is a range greater than 250 but less than 500 that will allow those with the "bad" processors to finally be able to scale at least in some fashion.

*update-for laughs and giggles I decided to try the cpu-scaling at 250-800mhz and for some strange reason it is working no freeze yet, weird.
