    PreCentral Community,

I'm please with my Palm Pre but was wondering if / when skype will be available on the Palm Pre??

Further to this what will allow the palm pre to be a global cell phone? While I'm on the sprint network. I travel to South Africa periodically and Do Not want to purchase a new cell phone to handle my calls and internet related communication(S); i would rather have one cell during my travels. Is there any new technology/ software that will allow the globalization of the palm pre..

I basically want my palm pre to BE end ALL cell for international travels.

No shot. CDMA is not compatible overseas. you would need the GSM version of the phone. I as well travel, but still have my blackberry storm which is unlocked so i can use it overseas (cdma and gsm on one phone). I wish the pre was a world phone when it hit verizon, but no dice.

Skype will not be available (i'm guessing) until they open up the microphone feature to 3rd party apps, which i believe, even after 1.4, is not available to developers.
