    Figured it out....

Open WebOS Quick Install. With phone attached go to Tools then Linux Commandline.

    Type:

    ls -l /media/cryptofs/apps/usr/lib/ipkg/lists

It will list some files. Find the one that is very large. Mine was precentral. Then type (using precentral as the example):

    rm /media/cryptofs/apps/usr/lib/ipkg/lists/precentral

    It fixed my problem! Thanks!

Yep, this fixed it. I typed in what tmm0f5 posted
and it was the same file as he posted (precentral) that was causing the problem.

    Thank you

I removed all theme feeds and precentral (not knowing the size of the files) and it fixed it!

+1 -- worked perfectly (though my file was webos-patches)

So, what if I was having this same issue, and decided to uninstall/delete (via option+click>Delete) Preware. And so now when I've tried to reinstall Preware using the latest WebOS QI, it just hangs forever, and my phone has to be restarted in order to get it working again.

And so when I've tried the fix stated above, it returns nothing. I'm assuming that's because I removed Preware. So what could be causing the issue with me not being able to install Preware? I've tried installing the Packet Manager Service first too, and that does that same thing, it just hangs. Maybe this isn't an issue with Preware, I'm not entirely sure, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

    -Gorphee

    Edit #1:
Also, when using WebOS QI, it appears that I am able to connect to my Pre just fine, I can use "Tweaks", "Themer", or "Device Management" and all show data that correlates to information that is on my Pre (Apps, patches, theme...).

    Edit #2:
I just used WebOS QI to install an app from the Precentral App Gallery Feed, and it worked just fine, so I do not know why I am unable to install neither Preware nor reinstall the Package Manager Service.

    Edit #3:
Wow, ok so after trying to load some random App using QI (edit #2), I tried loading Preware again, and it worked... I don't get it, but yeah so know lets see if I get that Critical Memory Error thingy again.

    Edit #4:
Well it's working again, so, I guess... thanks! Lol

Ok i copy and pasted that in and i get this

    root@palm-webos-device: -l /media/cryptofs/apps/usr/lib/ipkg/lists
    -l: not found

    Now what??
  8. #28
You didn't include the command, you left out "ls".

Now copy and paste it again, and this time don't leave off the 'ls ' at the front

You should use WebOS Quick Install to uninstall both the Package Manager Service and Preware. Option+Click will not uninstall the Package Manager Service.

Then use the solution above to check for the large files. Remove them if you find any. Then reboot. Then follow http://install.preware.org from the start.

Thanks, It makes sense why this would work, but I was able to fix it by manually deleting preware (orange + tap delete), then deleting package service from wosqi. Then restarted, installed service first, then preware again.

This screen doesn't tell the size, how can you determine this?

Never mind, duh, I see it. I'm still not having any luck. I'll keep deleting until it works or I'll just reinstall.

Just Wondering What Happens When You Delete One Of The Feeds. Lets Use Ur Example, PreCentral, Does This Means My Preware Will Never Load That Feed Again And Can No Longer Download Anything From That Feed?
