Forgive me if this was posted elsewhere. I didn't see this exact topic and the Thread searcher didn't give me anything.

Now, I was playing around with my Messenger when it hit me. The reason it seems to be leaking battery life when you have it 'active' or 'on' drains the battery life almost or exactly as fast as if the phone was 'Talking.' Which is what I think the problem is, actually - that it somehow turns the phone radios on.

Now, does it actually use the radios to send Messages, does it log into AIM but actually sms' the messages instead of actually sending them through the cloud? Is it because of text - message functionality messing up with internet messengers systems?

Has anyone who has rooted the Pre figured the problem, yet?
