    Hello guys,

Any idea if mp3/shoutcast streaming is possible on the pre?

I think I read that mp3s can be streamed, but only if they're full mp3s... not a live stream. Sort of a side note, last.fm actually is a full mp3, not a live stream.

Anyone know a solution for either?

    Thanks,

    Matt

I know I, along with a lot of other people have five years worth of data on their LastFM accounts. I don't quite want to start over with Pandora. Further, Pandora doesn't have the bredth and depth of music that LASTFM does. I've been playing around with Pandora on my own Pre; getting a feel with it and checking out where it's limitations are.

But as of now, there is no Classical Music. International Music is also pretty much nil or incredibly hard to find.

Last.fm recommends music differently than Pandora. It utilizes user tags, and similar artists (gathered from what other users actually listen to). Pandora (which I had used first and actually had subscribed to) uses musical attributes.

Overall, for the way I listen to music last.fm is better.

I had made a PHP web interface (which no longer functions) for last.fm: lfmm and am looking forward to developing a last.fm client for webOS.

Rasen - Pandora certainly does have classical music. Lots of it!

So streaming from sites such as RadioIO and 1.FM is NOT possible at this point?

I thought that I read it on their blog, that they didn't have streaming Classical due to the Licensing restrictions?

Certainly looking forward to a last.fm client as well - choice is good!

Does the native music player support scrobbling?

If not, I guess that would be pretty easy to build, right? Somehow grab (notifications or something) the current song being played and post them to last.f using their published API/webservices.

Do you have to pay extra after listening to last.fm for more than 40 hours per month? Or was that per week?

I would love to see a last.fm app for the pre.
So far that would be the only one worth paying for.
