Downloaded it for the Palmary Clock -- I run multiple timers for work -- and it had no sound.

Obviously a timer with no sound is pointless, so I am not sure I want to pay for classic.

Is there a setting I missed?

Sound will be available in Classic when the 1.1 update is released, which Motionapps has said will be "soon after release of the Pre".

    I'm running Classic 2.0 under 1.1.3

So far all I can get out of the standard alarm apps is a buz.

I've not tried any mp3 apps yet.

So has onyone managed to get anything more than basic tones out of Classic ?
    Thought of the day :
No sense being pessimistic, it probably wouldn't work anyway

    I believe we can help.
Here is the thing with alarms in Classic: alarms in Palm OS are played using a MIDI playback engine. Due to licensing constraints we were not able to include that MIDI engine within Classic, but instead we have provided an alternative way to provide a sound feedback. Any alarm you set will sound the same as alarm sound in Classic is not configurable.
