I've had my Touchstone for a few days now and it's well worth the money.

The TP works great as a photo frame viewer with the Touchstone, it save the hassle of trying to fit the MicroUSB connector every day and allows exhibition mode.

Well worth the $49 - Amazon.com: HP Touchstone Charging Dock for TouchPad: Electronics

Price dropped to $45.58 before becoming unavailable. My order hasn't shipped yet and I was able to get the Amazon customer rep to lower the price for me.

I'm finding that the case (official) gets in the way when the TP is on the Touchstone, especially in landscape for digital photo frame. The case pushes the TP off the base of the Touchstone, due to the lid of the case being folded over underneath.

    Anyone else experienced this?

does it come with the mains psu or do you just get a flying lead to plug into your original charger?

Actually landscape with the case on the TS is better than portrait with the case flipped behind on the TS. Haven't had any problem in landscape flipping the case behind.
I love physical keyboards... but there is two devices that would make me consider a slab, one is something running a full version of Open webOS. The other is an iPhone!!!! HA HA just kidding (about the iPhone that is)...

HP has the price at 29.99, but they are sold out again.

Every time this thing sells out, the price jumps back up on Amazon though.

    i got tow for $30 +tax

HP Touchstone For Touchpad 30$ or 40$ + Tax Staples In Store YMMV
I know there are a lot of price match threads, but I thought I will start one and give clear steps with my purchase proof

Staples have the Touchstones for 49.99$

    Inventory Checker - http://www.staples.com/office/sup...ber=355048

Pick one from your store and ask them to Price Match to Office Depot for 39.99$

    OD Link - http://www.officedepot.com/a/prod...ck-For-HP/

If they check with your local OD to confirm this and come back to you saying OD doesnt have any stock, then ask them to call the OD store # 2177 Zip # 27889. The staples price match policy does not say that it has to be in stock within you area...

Staples Price Match Link - Office Supplies, Printer Ink, Toner, Electronics, Computers, Printers & Office Furniture | StaplesŪ

After price matching, use the Office Max 10 Off 40$ coupon (attached) (add filler if they ask you to)...

Then, again use 5$ Off 25$ Staples coupon (attached)...

My manager was kind enough to accept both.. Ending up the price to 24.99$ + tax (receipt attached)

If your manager doesn't accept the Office Max 10$ coupon, the final price will be 35$ for you.... We had 3 in our store and I stole all 3 for 25$ each

I still feel, 25$ is expensive for this dock since I bought touchpad itself for only 20$ in Amazon.. Ohhh, dont ask about that - thats a different story..

I know, I might get -ve reps more than the +ves but wanted to help out the guys who are heading to staples with stock to buy this..

Just picked up two from a Staples near me. They had no problem knocking $10 off to price match Office Depot at $39.99 even though I know every OD in the area is sold out. The inventory checker is a good start, but not always accurate...I still show cases and touchstones at a couple stores near me, but there were none to be found when I went there...guessing the inventory is just off since it showed "In Stock" where I just picked up two, and checking now it already updated to say they're out. You do have to search a little bit in the store, treat them as any other oddball discontinued merchandise...found these on a side rack nowhere near other tablet accessories.

To answer the original question, well worth it...as you can see by the number of us who can't just have one. Much more convenient, and exhibition mode looks very nice...just wish Accuweather would fix their app to refresh properly.

definitely worth it it I easy just get done using it and set it in the touchstone to charge. I like the clock that comes up also. I have no issues with the case folded back charging it or can have the case closed. No problems with it sliding off

I am new to the wireless charging thing, but it seems the Touchstone takes longer to charge up the Touchpad compared to the plug in charger. The plug in charger charges @2Amps. I don't have the specs anymore or any of the literature that came with it.

Lithium ion like the slow charging sometimes tho, just not sure about this wireless method.

It is well worth it. Thinking about getting a second one. I have used the touchstone for my pre for over 2 years and it is sooooo nice not to have to mess with wires. It has been the same with my touchpad.

I agree wholeheartedly. I have one in my study/lab and another in my bedroom. It's soooo convenient.

Just plop it down and walk away. When you need it, just pick it up and go.
