    I've found it's actually the Palm vehicle power port plug that overheats and shuts down, doesn't seem to be an issue with the Touchstone puck itself. I noticed the little light on the plug is not lit. I unplug it, plug it back in, and phone starts charging.

    If others see this same issue, see if this solution works for you.

    instead of unplugging it, push the plug in further. I find that sometimes it wiggled loose, and that's more likely than overheating.

    I thought that too, but it's been all the way in every time.

    I keep my touchstone on a proclip right in front of the air vent.

    Couldn't this cause issues with getting too cold and creating condensation?
