You want to set a pin to lock your phone?
Open "Screen & Lock", then go to "Secure Unlock"
Choose to either set a PIN or Password.

If it's a bluetooth device, just type in 0000

I assume you are talking about bluetooth pairing. You get that from the manual for the bluetooth device. Usually 0000, but I have a car radio that is 8888

0000 or 1234 are the typical codes.

It's always factory set to some default. 9999 on one of my devices.

I was able to transfer just a few contacts (130 contacts of 1041 contacts) via Bluetooth connection using a 0000 pin

i am transferring it to Nokia Lumia 521 phone from a blackerry Pearl 8100.

Why would it not let me know complete all the transfers. Is the capacity on Nokia Lumia just a few 1000 contacts & not much more?

why would it not transfer all using NOKIA's transfer my data app.

Read the manual, ask your dealer or try one if the suggestions above. Alternatively: look/set it up in your MB system.

LOL.. not sure why we would know your BT password for your car. It should be in the owner's manual in your glovebox.
