Yesterday, I tried using my bluetooth headset with my Pre while using Sprint navigation and it didn't work. The drop down said I was connected to the headset, but the sound came out of the (very quiet) speaker on the phone. Luckily I had read here about using the headphone jack with a cassette adapter to get the sound via my car audio system, which worked fine. But is there any reason bluetooth shouldn't work with GPS? Anyone else had this happen?

There are different versions of BT headsets, and you didn't mention what type you have. Just about any version of BT headset will work for calling using the Pre, but to get audio from the GPS (or music players) you'll need an A2DP compatible headset. I suspect this is your problem.

This CNET article does a very good job at explaining the different versions and features of BT.
