I think I'm going to do what I did with my 700p and put on a zagg skin (it consists of a few stickers that you put all over it, like a screen protector). My 700p is two+ years old and it's in mint condition. I've always carried it in my pocket, even dropped it a few times here and there.

I have never used anything. All commando, all the time. My phones have gotten a bit scratched here an there it's true, but never anything serious. I have never needed to replace a phone, I have only ever WANTED to replace my phone. Lucky? No, I just keep my phone in a dedicated pocket by it lonesome, and I have been fine.

last phone I didn't mind in my pocket was my i500. Just don't like the bulk. Wear scrubs a lot too so with only one pocket, a holster becomes essential.

Yup! I'm gonna go with a full protective set from zagg.com (the invisible shield guys). I keep checking their site for the Pre - since they're used to releasing ones for new products fairly quickly hoping it would give a clue if the Pre is coming soon or not.

Totally agree...I have a Moto Q with an Invisible Shield, and it still looks great. I think that I'll still get this new flip-case for work, though. I'd be worried that the touch screen could get broken somehow otherwise.

I definitely like that Invisible Shield. I plan on getting a Touchstone with my Pre so I wonder if the Invisible Shield will work the inductive back that you will need.

    I was gonna ask that!

inductive charging is done by proximity not direct contact. The only concern I would see if is the extra thickness decreases the sensitivity of the magnets that keep it held in place, but I doubt it.

My friend currently has a Diamond and is thinking about getting a Pre as well. He has a heart condition and for that reason has a built in pacemaker and a defibrilator. I wonder if the inductive charging would set some of his alarms off if he were to touch the phone to remove it from the touch stone.

funny, but not plausible in all situations. The centro is to big to fit in my pocket, uncomfortable when sitting at a desk all day, and to hard ot get every time you get a text message of e-mail.

of course, the pre may be totally different

I'm prett sure somebody will create a skin for it. Sidekick Slide had some skins created for it. It won't be rubber but probably an adhesive of some sort

Nice case, I had a similar case for my 650 and out of all the case I tried for that model I liked that one best..

Hi Manny - I tried to do a little research for you and figured that Philips' Sonicare site would be a good start. I'm not really sure it helps but here's what their support site says about their inductive charging toothbrush:

    Question
Can I use a Sonicare toothbrush if I have a pacemaker?

    Answer
Sonicare is believed to be safe for use with common pacemakers. If you have any questions concerning usage with a pacemaker, consult your physician or pacemaker manufacturer prior to use.

So in other words, it's "believed" to be safe - but you better ask the doctor. Sorry that's all I could find for now. I could ask one of the cardio docs when I go back to work tomorrow..

^ that was very intresting. never would have though about the effects on a pacemaker.

Guess I'll have to place a sign outside my office door: "Touchstone in use"
If you found my post useful then please sign up for a Dropbox Account, I could use the extra 250mb of storage.

HOW TO: Zip/Unzip via Pre/Pixi using Terminal
HOW TO: Modify DTMF audio (webOS 1.4.5 or earlier)

I would imagine since it is a proximity thing you'd probably have to be rail thin and place the charger right over your heart for it to remotely do much of anything if it did something at all.

I use to have a side case for my treo and after the belt clip broke, I went the front pocket route for a while. I'm a bit of a clumsy guy so after the clip broke the treo suffered from many falls and received many scratches. I have recently gone back to a side case. I am all for this accessory.
