Try extracting them using Novacom or mount the VMDK as a loopback.

Third option:

Download WinSCP and connect as follows:

File protocol: SCP

Host name: 127.0.0.1

Port: 5522

Username: root

Ignore any warnings and just click ok if it asks for a password.

So now you'll have full GUI directory browsing.

Edit: i forgot to mention that this will only work while the emulator is running...

Google (search, not the corporation) is your friend. You can probably find directions on how to mount a VM image via command line, or find another SCP solution and connect via the same credentials...

I forgot to mention the path...

Code:
/media/internal/wallpapers
So you could do this:
Code:
novacom get file://media/internal/wallpapers/01.jpg > 01.jpg
and it will save the file to 01.jpg in your current directory.

Those are for other emulator wallpapers (that are different than the stock ones, but sized for phones). The actual flower wallpaper is at
Code:
/usr/lib/luna/system/luna-systemui/images/flowers.png
