Let's say I wanted to go back to WebOS 3.0.2 from 3.0.4. I would like to not be nagged that there is a WebOS update available and have to hit "later" to install. Need to manually disable checking for updates or even downloading them until I want to or not at all.

Moreover, I would also like to manually enable/disable update notifications for app store purchases.

I saw a bunch of commandline arguments for the phones that do this:

From the Linux command line enter:

    cd /usr/bin
    mount -o remount,rw /
    chmod -x /usr/bin/UpdateDaemon
    killall UpdateDaemon

Hit enter twice between each line to get me back to a root prompt.

If you disabled your update you might want to re-enable it at some point.

    cd /usr/bin
    mount -o remount,rw /
    chmod +x UpdateDaemon
    mount -o remount,ro /

Then restart your phone and automatic updating should be back.

But I don't know if this will work for the Touchpad. It would be nice to have something like this as a patch that can manually enable and disable these commandline arguments.
