    I made sure there was no AcroRd32.exe process running and tried another print of a 10 page document (2-sided, no-color). This time there were no errors in the Processing Log but it still printed 1 page (one side) total. 10 pages were processed on the Touchpad. It seems like the TouchPad2Pc deletes the temporary PDF file before it is sent to the Printer completely?

    I have set up everything but it won't print. I have a Canon MX860 wireless. Any advice?
  3. #203
    Simply outstanding! Kudos to the developer. I did not bother to print on my wireless printer but I printed on pdf files. This fits perfectly for my needs because I rarely print on paper anyway unless absolutely needed. I print on pdf printer quite a lot though (easy to find and manage receipts, etc.).
    Thanks again.

    Can you copy/paste the processing log here? Hopefully that'll give some clue as to what's going wrong.

    Awesome worked for me, much thanks.

    Iīm having exactly the same probleme. The thing is, that sometimes, it is working but mostly it is just printing the first page. Sometimes, I got the error named in the messages before, somtimes I donīt, but even this has no effect whether it is just printing the first or all sides.

    I cannot get this to work. I send a job to the printer from my touchpad and the adobe window opens but a message pops up saying

    "There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found."

    Any help?

    I can't seem to set up Duplex printing for my HP Laserjet 1320 - the log shows it as duplex mode but it comes out single sided. Anyone got any ideas?
  12. #212
    Sorry not always the smartest cookie when it comes to things like this...

    I'm sure I'm doing making some extremely basic mistake, but can't figure it out.
    My Windows Vista desktop is wirelessly networked to my Brother printer. I've installed the Touch2PCPrinter software on desktop, set the 4 defaults to the Brother printer, and the program path to AcroRd32.exe, and started.

    When I try to add printer on Touchpad, I keep getting error that printer is currently not supported. I've put in the IP address that is listed on the Network Configuration report for the printer. When I look at properties for the printer, I see nothing about TCP port 9100 and UDP port 161...nothing, unless I'm looking in wrong place.
    So bottom line, can't even get to try to print because can't get my printer added!
    Can somebody steer me in the right direction??
  13. #213
    @Dompteur & serveral others:
    Have you tried increasing the timeout to something higher than 120 seconds - it might not be related, just a hunch?

    @scout123:
    You don't have to setup any ports on your printer but rather your firewall (router and/or Windows firewall). When Touch2PCPrinter is running (and shows no errors in the logfile) but you still can't find a printer with your HP Touchpad (must be connected to the same network) than you either entered the wrong IP-address on your Touchpad (must be the IP address of your PC running Touch2PC Printer!!) or the ports are blocked on your PC (or on the way to your PC)! (TCP 9100/UDP 161)
  14. #214
    Yes I tried to increase the timeout to 200 then to 1000 and then back to 300 seconds: With 200 seconds the first try works, but then the problems again, with 1000 seconds the program always broke down and then back to 200 and 300 seconds just the error appears-no fruther good trys...:-(

    I am getting exactly the same thing using Acrobat Pro 9.

    From what I can tell:

    1. the pdf file is definitely created successfully. I have been able to locate it and open it. It looks as expected.

    2. Acrobat opens successfully.

    3. From what I can see the pdf never actually opens in acrobat unless it happens very very quickly and then closes.

    4. After the timeout exception, acrobat successfully exits, and the temp file is deleted.

    So, it seems to me its a problem with getting acrobat to open the file. Perhaps something about the location of the temp file? I have left it in the default location, which is where it is being created.

    So, I did some more investigations on the named problem:

    When Iīm changing the the output folder, I donīt have this error anymore:

    8:29:30 AM: EXCEPTION OCCURRED: System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\Theo\Touch2PcPrinter Output\tmp6030.pdf' because it is being used by another process.
    at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
    at System.IO.File.Delete(String path)
    at Touch2PcPrinter.Server.runServer() in C:\Users\Corey\Documents\TouchPrint\Touch2PcPrinter\Server.cs:line 185

    But only until I changes from default (singlesided, colored) to another setting. Then this error happens again. A positive effect of this error is, that the error interrupt the program before deleting the pdf-file, so I ca see, the pdf-file is perfect, with all pages.

    When I now change the output folder again, the error is gone again - but changing the folder is the only way for this effect. Especially, there is no second acrobat running.

    And what ist more: No matter, whether I have this error or not, my printer ist still just printing one side - no matter if 120 or 300 timeout seconds also....

    Now I tried to use my second printer with some interesting impressions: The frirst one is a Kyocera printer with network card, connected to my Fritz!Box. The second one is an Epson R800 connceted directly with the PC. Now, when I first tried it with the Epson, I forgot to switch the printer on first, so I got the error message form the Epson Printer Monitor and the Acrobat Reader wasnīt closed until the printer was ready, which takes at least 30 seconds - and afterwards, both sides I sent from the TP were printed.
    Then I tried it a second time - printer on from beginning - and I just got one page again. I tried it a third time, got both sides, with the forth and fifth, just one side (eventhough the Epson Printer Monitor was always announcing 2 sides)...so I really think, the problem ist, that the Acrobat Reader is closing to fast for my PC and/or printer, so that there is normally just time to send one side completly - with luck, as with the third try, it fits to 2 sides, sometimes...

    And maybe this is also interessting: With the third try, as I mentioned, I got both sides, but the above named error also - so for me, this two issues are not related to each other...

    Just wanted to say thanks for the program! It worked pretty flawlessly for me, using a Brother MFC-3360 and a fresh Adobe Reader install. I have had the occasional crash, but there was some experimenting at the time, and my home server is pretty old.

    I do want to volunteer a little something I didn't see posted, in case it might help someone else (apologies if it has been posted and I missed it):

    I was trying to set up printing via Ubuntu on the TP. There was no working Linux/ARM driver for my admittedly outdated printer. Nor a PPD file I could use. After installing CUPS, and a configuration gui, I was able to get printing working using this program. I created a new Network Printer -> AppSocket/HP JetDirect. Put in the IP address of my home server, and selected HP Color Laserjet CP6015 drivers. This is the printer mentioned in this program's SnmpObjects.cs source file. Worked like a charm.

    I have OpenVPN set up too, so it should work from other technically-non-local locations.
