I am currently running detain squeeze, but when I run webOS quick install it can't find my device. I've installed the novacom drivers, but it still doesn't show my device. Any advice on this?

    ps -e | grep novacomd
if there is nothing, novacomd is not running. start it and it should work.

if you are in webos (not sure exactly what envornment you are in) and you forget to put it in developer mode, it wont show up either.

You would need to set up a serial connection in debian to connect to the novacom terminal. Quickinstall is only for webos, which does know abou your debian which is on a separate disk partition.
