Synology Music Player - synoMusic

SynoMusic allows you to stream music from Synology DiskStation to your phone/touchpad.

Tested only on Synology DSM 3.X / 4.X

Tested on:
Palm Pre+ (webOS 1.4.5, webOS 1.4.5 UberKernel, webOS 2.1)
Palm Pre2 (webOS 2.1)
HP TouchPad

UPDATE to version 0.5.5 in Preware
- repeat button added

0.5.4:
- fixed icons
- fixed last song loop

0.5.3:
- fixed phone problem
- fixed some logic problems
- avoid timeout http request added
- new player menu icons, better for phones

new version not playing music on my DSM 3.2 . Connection works after creating 3.x account and browsing works, but no file plays ("loading" forever). This is on my Pre2 2.2.4.

On Pre3 2.2.4 with same DSM but on old app Version, all still works.

Send you log and could test more if wanted.

Synology have their own apps for iOS and Android for free, I have created these only because there wasn't for webOS.

yes i've downloaded the DS Audio App for iOS but yours seems better
and working with "people" is for me much convenient than working with Companies that don't mind your questions...

For example i would like a Flac support and its cover art (not displaying) , or some DLNA feature , creating playlist... not available in DS Audio.

Those kind of request are more often taken care by community.

This was easy because synology using web based api and webos is web based OS

But I started working on this app about September 2011.

Howerver, what audioformats does the app support. I am getting format not supporte when the file extension is in upper case .MP3 and with .aac extenions there is also no playback. Will the application support eventually all the formats that the audo station supports.?

thank you for your support, I will do my best.

I think about uppercase extension MP3, this will be bug of my app I think

About other formats, I think it will be not possible to play because of HTML5 <audio> tag limitation (in webOS).

In previous versions there was some transcoding function in Synology audio station, but I havent found this in DSM 4.

And is it to act as controller to beam/control Synology-hosted songs to e.g. TV or streaming client to get other media resources than Synology?

Hi this will be fixed, I'm rebuilding whole streaming mode of player.

Yes, with this you will be able to play music direct to UPNP/DLNA media renderer supported by synology. For testing purposes, now I'm streaming music to my windows 7 desktop computer.

My friends major 0.5.2 update in Preware:

- revamped Stream player (hope it will play continuous, without stopping)
- UPnP streamer / player support

please test it

PS: forgot to test on mobile phone, hope it will works :/
