Here's some good information for the uninitiated:

I never sign up for anything except unlimited web and limited voice so I don't
    worry about partial web rates.

On the other hand, I do worry about 240x240 or 320x240 screen limitations
when I am used to a 320x320 already.

I have used 160x160, 320x320, 240x320, 480x640 and now the 240x240 on my hw6515. The best of course was the 480x640 on my hx4705 but its power hungry and the 240x240 works fine for me hw6515. I can do everything I need it to do including GPS but the Treo form factor is worth the jump back to a Palm device but only for WM OS.

Verizon Wireless charges $60 per month for unlimited EV-DO with 2 year contract.

That's for the PC card. The PDA unlimited data plan is $45/mo.

That's not EV-DO. That's the slow wireless data plan. I'm paying $45 right now for unlimited data w/o EV-DO.

Its the same price. If your phone has the capability you get evdo (ie sami730, harrier 6600) if you do not have an evdo phone you dont get evdo, but the price of the plan stays the same. $45/mo unlimited

    Wha?? Really???
If that's true, wow... High speed data for the same as I'm paying for pathetically slow data. I suddenly feel a need to upgrade my Treo.
    Sorry for the bad info!

    no worries.

It's understandable. Not sure why Verizon persists in charging the same for 1XRTT and Ev-DO.

Yep, just like with sprint it's still $15 unlimited for evdo on the ppc-6700...

$15 for EV-DO??? And again, I'm paying $45 for slow data!

Heh - it would still be slow data for you on Sprint, but it would be a lot cheaper.

You should keep your mouth shut when you have no idea what you are talking about.

I can speak a bit on this firsthand, I'm currently "trying out" both a 650 and a XV6600 from verizon. The plans are as follows:

450 anytime minutes, free verizon to verizon (except checking your email, which kinda sucks), free nights & weekends, unlimited data, either 1x or EV-DO, same price, as was said.

    $79 a month

Oh, I'm sorry. Are you suggesting samkin's Treo 650 would be EVDO capable on the Sprint network? Or do you, perhaps, not know what you're talking about?
